Chicken Adobo is one of my favorite Filipino dish
I’ll try to show you how to make this step by step.
Adobo is a traditional Filipino dish, although that you can make this with pork too if you
prefer, But chicken is my favorite.
Ingredients for 4 pers:
1 whole chicken
2 pieces of dried bay leaves
4 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp vinegar
2 to 3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 to 2 cups water (depends on how dry you’re chicken is)
1/2 tbsp white sugar
salt and whole peppercorns (or just normal pepper, I prefer this because I always have this
in my kitchen)
This dish is really easy to make, you just need a big cooking pot.
Clean you’re chicken and cut it to pieces.
Use you’re cooking oil and fry your chicken.
Put your crushed garlic, dried bay leaves and then season with salt (not too much soy sauce
because soy is already salty) and pepper.
Once your chicken is browned, add the soy sauce and water.
Let it cook for 10 min but don’t forget to stir.
Only at the end you can put the vinegar and sugar, let it cook for 5 to 10 min until you’re
sauce thickens and glazes the chicken abit.
The veggies I like with Adobo are carrots and green beans.
I love this dish with Asian sticky rice with garlic!
